Watching Singh Sabha a 'joy' for manager Zufran Asghar - Sabha win the Team of the Month prize

PICTURE: Singh Sabha have been nominated by their fellow East Berkshire League Clubs as the Team of the Month for February.

Singh Sabha manager Zufran Asghar has enjoyed watching his team score goals and win football matches, earning them the Team of the Month award for February.

Sabha fired themselves into the Quarter Finals of the League Cup (a trophy the Club currently holds) with a 7-0 win against KS Gryf.

The defending Premier Division champions then improved into second place in the table with a 7-0 victory at Hype Train, closing the gap on leaders Britwell to three points ahead of their mouth-watering clash in the next Showcase Match this Friday (7.30pm).

The team rounded up an impressive month by reaching the Slough Town Premier Cup final after a 4-2 (after extra time) win in the Semi Finals at Britwell.

A proud Asghar said: “On behalf of Singh Sabha, I would like to thank the League and the teams that voted for us, which allowed us to win the Team of the Month award. It’s a good achievement for us to be recognised and appreciated by the League and the teams that we play against.

“We’ve had a really good February. We scored plenty of goals and won our games. We’ve really enjoyed it and got some big results. It was a very impressive month for us.

“We go into every game wanting to win and to score goals, that’s our main thing. We want to enjoy ourselves playing football and to win the game.

“There has been some good results which has allowed us to reach the Slough Town [Premier] Cup final, which is coming up this May.

“We’ve also picked up good points in the League and scored goals to benefit our goals difference, which will hopefully come to help us later on in the season.

“It’s been a really enjoyable month watching the boys score goals and win football matches.”

He added: “Our main aim every season is to win trophies, to get into Cup finals and to win the League, and this season is no different.

“Our main aim is to retain the Premier Division title. It’ll be tough but we will try our best. And also to reach another one or two Cup finals. We will always give it our best shot. If it works, it works but, if it doesn’t then we will come back stronger.

“We really appreciate the great work being done by the League.”

Singh Sabha are next in action against old rivals, Britwell, in the Showcase Match at Burnham Football Club this Friday (7.30pm).
