There were mixed results for representatives of the East Berkshire Football League in the first round of the Berks & Bucks F.A. Charles Twelftree Trophy on Saturday.
Both Pundit and F.C Beaconsfield have made progress into round two but, unfortunately, Chalvey Sports and KS Gryf fell at the first hurdle.
Pundit beat Wingrave from the Aylesbury & District League Premier Division 2-1 at the George Pitcher Memorial Ground. There were goals either side of the break from Ryan Partington and substitute Kingsley Etefia, but the home team were reduced to 10 men when Adam Durrant was shown a red card.
F.C Beaconsfield were awarded a walkover win after their scheduled opposition, AFC Carpathians, could not fulfil the tie.
Chalvey Sports had a tough draw away at FAB F.C of the Combined Counties Football League Division Two and suffered a 2-0 defeat. Troy Russell hit the back of the net either side of half-time for the winning hosts.
KS Gryf suffered a gut-wrenching 5-4 defeat to Milton Keynes City, a team that competes in the Premier Division of the North Bucks & District League. Tommy Ovens scored twice inside the opening 10 minutes for the visitors to The Polish Club. Both Mason Carter and Matthew Jones found a route to goal in the second half for Milton Keynes as the match finished all square at 4-4 at the end of 90 minutes. Ovens scored again in the extra time period to complete his ha-trick and ensured his team progressed.
The Berks & Bucks F.A will announce the draw for the second round of the competition at 2pm this Thursday.
