Old Windsor F.C first team have retained the East Berkshire League Cup this season after a 2-1 win against Old Windsor F.C Reserves on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Sid Hurley League Cup Final was an historic match in the East Berkshire League, being the first-ever one-club Final, and 364 spectators filled the Arbour Park Stadium in Slough to witness history being made.
The celebrations included a special training session on the artificial pitch for more than 40 players from Old Windsor Tigers F.C, and a coach full of Boston United F.C supporters turned out in fancy dress before their game at Maidenhead United later the same day.
Old Windsor Reserves were clear underdogs in the Final match but beat two Premier Division teams, Langley F.C Reserves and A.F.C Reading, en route to creating history so would have fancied their chances of taking the ultimate scalp.
Trent Wareham and his team were in dreamland when Sam Windsor fired them into the lead after 37 minutes, and the Reserves side held that advantage until well into the final quarter of the game.
The match turned on 72 minutes when Reserves goalkeeper John Fearnley was judged to have brought down Harry Farnan inside the box, and Joseph Allen slotted the resulting penalty kick into the bottom right-hand corner.

The chances of a shock result were still on with the Final appearing to be heading to penalties, but that changed in the final of four added on minutes when substitute Joe Richards headed in a right-wing cross to secure victory for the first team: breaking the hearts of all those supporting the Reserves side.
The Old Windsor first team have now retained both the League Cup and the Slough Town Cup this season, and could repeat their treble-winning success of last year by adding the East Berkshire League Premier Division title later this month.
Britwell F.C moved back to the top of the Premier Division table after a 2-0 win against Frontline on Saturday. Both Cheyenne Cripps and Daniel Molloy found a route to goal at The Chicken Ranch.
The result means Britwell are two points clear of rivals Old Windsor ahead of their winner-takes-all match on the final day of the season, Saturday 31 May.
The league leaders require a draw or better to regain the Premier Division crown last won in 2023. The defending champions, Old Windsor, must win the game to secure the silverware.
Slough Heating Laurencians F.C Reserves staged a remarkable comeback to beat Old Windsor Reserves and book their place in the Ascot & District Fielden Charity Cup competition Final.
The Lauries were trailing the visitors to The Polish Association by two goals after just a quarter of the Semi Finals match on Saturday, but recovered to level the scores at 2-2 and then hold their nerves to win the ensuing penalties shoot-out.

Goals from Daniel O'Brien and Joe Webster gave Old Windsor a clear early lead, and at that point The Os would have been dreaming of another appearance in the Final having last won the famous competition in 2023.
Slough Heating have never got their hands on this historic silverware but that could be about to change as both Sherif Elghoneimi and substitute Alfie Jago took the tie to penalties. And, the Lauries won that shoot-out 3-2 to face either Britwell or Taplow United in the Final at The Racecourse Ground on Friday 16 May (7.30pm kick off).
