PICTURE: F.C. Baylis United have enjoyed a great spell of form this autumn to complete a hat-trick of wins in the Premier Division and climb up to third position in the table.
FC Baylis United continued their fine run of form this autumn when beating KS Gryf 5-1 on Saturday to complete a hat-trick of wins in the East Berkshire League Premier Division.
The red-hot run has seen Baylis score an impressive 22 goals in their last three league games, conceding only twice, and climb up to third position in the Premier Division table.
Nabill Abeid set the wheels in motion at the Iver Heath Recreation Ground with a brace inside the first 20 minutes of the game. Kamran Khan scored either side of the break, and Oluwadamilola Famakin added a fifth goal on the hour mark.
Mihai Csukas scored the consolation goal for Gryf, but the team is now on a five-match losing streak and remain in the relegation zone, three points from safety. In fact, their last victory came against Baylis at the Polish Association back in September.
Cookham Dean continued their autumn resurgence with a 5-2 victory over Pundit at the George Pitcher Memorial Ground in Burnham. Shane Donaldson will take the plaudits with a hat-trick, with both Sean Inkpen and Rory King also finding a route to goal. Kingsley Etefia bagged a brace for Pundit.
This success is a third win in a row for Cookham and sees them leapfrog Pundit into eighth position In the Premier Division table. Back-to-back defeats for Pundit mean the team slips one place to ninth, but four points above the drop zone.
PICTURE: AFC Reading gained an important first win at home this season when beating Frontline 6-3 in the Premier Division on Saturday.
AFC Reading had lost all three of their opening matches at home in the league, but bagged a first victory at the Berkshire County Sports Club with a 6-3 success against Frontline. The match was level at 2-2 heading into the break but Reading went through the gears in the second half to score four more goals and secure three crucial points.
Mitchell Dowson was the chief destroyer for Reading with a hat-trick, while Joe Pocock scored twice and Sam Ingamells came on as a substitute to bag a late sixth goal.
The win keeps AFC Reading in a very respectable mid-table position, but consecutive losses for Frontline mean last seasons runners-up drop to fifth place and five points behind the title pace.
