BRITWELL missed the opportunity to move to the top of the East Berkshire Football League Premier Division after a 1-1 draw at Old Windsor on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

With leaders SB Phoenix suffering defeat at Singh Sabha, Britwell would have become the new leaders with a victory over the defending champions. A goal from Joe Allen and a man-of-the-match performance by Luke White put Old Windsor ahead in the contest, before Ben White struck to give the visitors a point.

Singh Sabha gained revenge on SB Phoenix for a defeat the previous weekend with a 3-2 home win, elevating them up to third place in the table. Sabha fell two goals behind but, despite playing with 10 men, recovered to take the victory thanks to a star display and brace from Conrad Joseph.

Stoke Poges Saints are the new leaders in Division One despite being held to a goalless draw at Hype Train FC. It was a game of few chances and neither team could break the deadlock. The Saints best chance fell to Sam Manton in the second-half, whilst Hype Train threatened through several first-half set-pieces. The result means Stoke Pohes have recorded back-to-back clean sheets and remain unbeaten this season.

The Saints went top after former leaders Iver Heath suffered a first loss of the season, going down 3-1 at home to Old Windsor Reserves, a result that moves them off bottom spot. The Old Windsor goals coming from man-of-the-match Chris Atkins, Lucas Benge and Lex Young.

Townmead remain third in the table thanks to a 2-0 win at Hounslow Wanderers.

Division Two is shaping up to be very competitive this season with just four points separating the top five sides.

AFC Cressex are setting the pace following a 1-1 home draw with third-placed Pundit. The visitors were disappointed to concede an equaliser in the last minute, but gave credit to Cressex for being a well-drilled team.

Barton Rovers made it three wins inside a week after a 4-2 success at AFC Winkfield Reserves last Wednesday was backed up with a 6-1 thrashing of Phoenix Old Boys 4s on Saturday. Barton are now in second place and just one point behind Cressex.

Stoke Poges Saints Reserves climbed into the top five following a 2-1 win at Winkfield Reserves last weekend.

Chalfont St Peter Under 23s moved within one win of being crowned champions of the Development Division after a 4-1 success at third-placed Wokingham & Emmbrook. The young Saints will lift the title with a win at home to Pinewood U23s Panthers this Saturday.
